Abstract
Dewasa ini umat Islam menghadapi cabaran kepada akidah kuat. Sifat-sifat global yang terdapat dalam pelbagai hal seperti ekonomi, perdagangan, budaya sains dan hasil-hasil teknologi telah mencabar agama untuk terus relevan atau sebaliknya. Bagi memenuhi tuntutan akidah untuk mengatasi masalah moden era ini, pengaruh aliran pemikiran semasa perlu diperincikan sepertimana yang pernah dilaksanakan oleh ilmuwan Islam terdahulu. Oleh yang demikian, kajian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tahap kepekaan penjawat awam institusi Islam di Selangor terhadap isu-isu yang berlaku mengenai pemikiran liberal. Bagi mencapai objektif ini, metod kajian kuantitatif telah digunakan. Pengumpulan data adalah melalui analisis dokumen dan instrumen soal selidik. Begitu juga kajian menggunakan teknik pensampelan bertujuan (purposive sampling). Pemilihan sampel melibatkan penjawat awam institusi Islam di Selangor. Data kajian telah dianalisa secara deskriptif menggunakan min dan sisihan piawai. Secara keseluruhannya dapatan kajian menunjukkan aspek positif dalam kepekaan terhadap pemikiran liberal di Selangor. Walaubagaimanpun terdapat simptom-simptom pemikiran tersebut dapat dikesan dalam aspek tertentu seperti perkara yang berkaitan dengan Perlembagaan Malaysia, Kesultanan, Pluralisme agama dan lain-lain lagi. Dapatan kajian ini diharap dapat membantu merangka dasar baru pendidikan akidah juga dapat membantu pihak majlis agama dalam menangani penularan pengaruh pemikiran liberal di tanah air. Justeru itu pihak MAIS dan JAIS tidak boleh memandang ringan isu ini kerana ia berpotensi mengugat kredibiliti MAIS dan JAIS sebagai tonggak utama institusi Islam di Selangor.
