Abstract
L’interprétation graphique occupe une place importante au sein du processus de modélisation de situations réelles. Cette interprétation repose sur l’articulation entre les représentations sémiotiques impliquées et l’expérience concrète. Dans cet article, nous proposons une analyse des signes personnels qui ont émergés chez des élèves de 3e secondaire (14-15 ans) lors de l’étude du déplacement d’une personne appréhendée à l’aide d’un capteur de distance (CBR). L’analyse de ces signes dans le discours révèle les défis rencontrés pour interpréter les variations de vitesse représentées par des changements d’allure du tracé graphique. Les modulations d’expression langagière montrent comment les élèves font face à ces difficultés et permettent d’anticiper les défis subséquents à considérer lors de l’orchestration du passage aux signes mathématiques.
