Abstract
Bureaud pisze o sztuce w sieci i w internecie. Jednak analizowanie problemu wyłącznie w oparciu o medium wydaje się prowadzić donikąd. Bureaud nie chce abstrahować od motywów, marzeń i utopii artystów, odwołując się do awangardy artystycznej XX w. Pisze o interaktywnej kreacji przypominającej wielki patchwork, w którym wszyscy uczestnicy mają równe prawa. Indywidualność nabiera znaczenia dopiero w kolektywnym systemie. Sztuka internetowa ma ograniczone możliwości. Jej uczestnikami są artysta-inicjator, interaktywni odbiorcy wnoszący własne pomysły oraz odbiorcy pasywni. Nie ma jednak różnicy między publicznością a artystą w sztuce sieci, ponieważ nie można pozostać biernym widzem; wszyscy, którzy wchodzą do sieci, wnoszą swój wkład w projekt. Dzieło sztuki nie istnieje już jako rzecz, ale jako płynne zjawisko podlegające ciągłej transformacji.
