Abstract
Le présent article s’intéresse à la manière dont les spécialistes d’art et de pédagogie russes et soviétiques ont abordé la question complexe de la définition du réalisme du dessin d’enfant. Il s’agit de présenter les différentes réflexions qui se sont exprimées de la fin de la Russie impériale au début de l’ère soviétique, et de les situer dans leur contexte artistique et éducatif national et européen. Nous distinguons ainsi quatre périodes : les années 1901-1921, qui voient la promotion de la figure de l’enfant impressionniste ; les années 1920, durant lesquelles le réalisme est envisagé par rapport aux stades de développement de l’enfant ; le « grand tournant », qui correspond à la politisation de l’approche du dessin d’enfant ; et, enfin, le milieu des années 1930, moment de la promotion de la figure de l’enfant réaliste, concomitante de l’apparition du réalisme socialiste.
