ABSTRACT Two‐component rigid polyurethane (PU) foams, which are non‐reactive to acid amine drainage, are broadly used in mining applications to fill or prevent subsidence areas, support tunnel roofs, and control ventilation structures. However, its highly insulating nature always poses challenges in preventing the buildup of static charge, which remains a critical concern in industrial and safety contexts. In this study, dendritic conducting polypyrrole (PPy) was incorporated into PU foams to establish a conductive pathway. The results showed that a percolation threshold of 3.5%–5% is necessary to achieve a resistivity of 10 6 –10 7 Ω/cm. The PPy particles were first characterized via SEM, TEM, TGA, and FTIR. Then, the quasi‐static and dynamic compression properties and electrical impedance spectroscopy of the resulting foams were carefully investigated via Bode, Nyquist, and impedance phase plots as a function of frequency. It was shown that the PPy particles established a conductive pathway in the PU matrix, leading to a stable electrical tunneling effect. A stable impedance value of 10 6 –10 7 Ω was found to decrease above 10 4 Hz, where the nanocomposite behavior changed from resistive‐like (frequency‐independent) to capacitive‐like (frequency‐dependent).
