RELAÇÃO ENTRE FUNCIONALIDADE, FRAGILIDADE E QUALIDADE DE VIDA EM PESSOAS IDOSAS INSTITUCIONALIZADAS - ESTUDO TRANSVERSAL QUANTITATIVO E DESCRITIVO

Abstract
Resumo: Objetivo: Avaliar e descrever o perfil sociodemográfico, funcionalidade, fragilidade e qualidade de vida (QV) de pessoas idosas institucionalizadas; avaliar se há associação entre, funcionalidade, fragilidade e QV. Métodos: Estudo transversal, quantitativo e descritivo. Foram incluídos 21 idosos de uma instituição de longa permanência, com 60 anos ou mais. Os voluntários responderam a uma ficha de caracterização do perfil sociodemográfico, questionário WHOQOL-bref, sobre QV, escala de Katz (atividades básicas de vida diária - ABVD), escala de Lawnton (atividades instrumentais de vida diária - AIVD) e Edmonton (fragilidade). Resultados: Houve a predominancia do sexo masculino (n=11) e fragilidade grave (n=14). Para a AIVD, a maioria das pessoas necessita de ajuda parcial ou são incapazes de realizar as atividades. Para ABVD, 8 voluntários são independentes em todas as funções. A maior pontuação da QV refere-se ao domínio de relações sociais. Houve relação negativa entre relações Sociais da QV e AIVD, meio ambiente da QV e AIVD. Conclusão: Os idosos apresentam perfis sociodemográficos diferenciados, limitações funcionais referentes à realização de AIVD e ABVD, bem como, sinais de fragilidade. Ficou evidente a associação entre funcionalidade e QV, o que nos alerta para a importância do cuidado a estes aspectos para manutenção de uma velhice com boa QV; nesse sentido, o uso de tecnologias leves, como acolhimento e vínculo, voltadas para a pessoa idosa, pode promover um cuidado satisfatório e melhoria da saúde, afetando positivamente a QV.
