Este capítulo propone, en el primer apartado, contextualizar la génesis de lo que se ha denominado feminización de las migraciones, con sus matices epistémicos, sin pretensiones de ser exhaustivos, pero con el espíritu de comprensión amplia de las implicaciones y desafíos de esta conceptualización. Al mismo tiempo, en el segundo apartado, se elaboran algunas posibilidades de relaciones conceptuales, tomando como base investigaciones en el área ya concluidas, que permiten abordar ejes temáticos que consideramos fundamentales. Estos ejes temáticos escogidos son: el lugar de la perspectiva de género para el estudio de las migraciones y, en este marco, el fenómeno de la invisibilización de las mujeres, las adecuaciones familiares, las posibilidades analíticas de la perspectiva interseccional y la incidencia de las políticas migratorias. Antes de las reflexiones finales, el tercer apartado, presenta un breve análisis que busca identificar algunas de las características de la producción científica asociada a este fenómeno.
