Abstract
Según el análisis de Moore, “la crisis climática que se está desarrollando no es antropogénica, sino capitalogénica” (Moore, 2023, p. 565). En consecuencia, “debemos transmitir un mensaje sobre una crisis climática concretamente interrelacionada que nació del capitalismo como una ecología mundial del poder, el beneficio y la vida hace cinco siglos. Vivimos en el Capitaloceno, la “era del capital”, no en el Antropoceno” (Moore, 2022a, p. 8). Elegimos esta opción de estudio en consonancia con la hipótesis de que atribuir el cambio climático únicamente a la humanidad pasa por alto importantes desigualdades en la riqueza y el poder. Los pensadores radicales y los activistas por la justicia climática sostienen que calificar el cambio climático como antropogénico (causado por el ser humano) supone, en la práctica, culpar a quienes ya están marginados. En su lugar, proponen el término “capitalogénico” (causado por el capital) para reflejar mejor el papel de la civilización capitalista en el impulso de la crisis climática.
