Cet article explore la situation de l’insécurité alimentaire dans l’enseignement supérieur québécois, dans le contexte de l’enseignement collégial. L’objectif de cette contribution est double. Premièrement, explorer l’état de la sécurité alimentaire dans un échantillon de cégeps et identifier les profils d’étudiants plus à risque de connaître l’insécurité alimentaire. Deuxièmement, apprécier l’effet de l’insécurité alimentaire sur des variables qui ne sont généralement pas considérées dans ce type d’analyse : le sentiment d’auto-efficacité et la satisfaction dans les études. S’appuyant sur les données d’une enquête par questionnaire réalisée auprès d’un échantillon de 2 127 cégépiens inscrits dans six collèges à l’automne 2024, les analyses montrent que 43,9 % des participants vivent une forme d’insécurité alimentaire et que certains profils d’étudiants sont plus à risque. Les résultats concernant le sentiment d’auto-efficacité et la satisfaction dans les études suggèrent que l’insécurité alimentaire influence ces deux variables : les étudiants en situation d’insécurité alimentaire expriment une plus faible satisfaction dans leurs études et un plus faible sentiment d’auto-efficacité. D’autres travaux de recherche tenant compte de la diversité des réalités locales des établissements, adoptant une approche longitudinale et utilisant un cadre d’analyse du bien-être alimentaire, sont nécessaires pour mieux comprendre dans sa globalité le rapport des populations cégépiennes à leur alimentation.
