Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

Abstract. The development of the tourism sector is currently still oriented towards economic benefits. Meanwhile, climate change continues to occur as a result of development, including in the tourism sector. In this regard, a sustainable tourism approach that considers not only the economy but also the environment has developed significantly, but one concept that has not been explored much is circular tourism. This study explores the concept of a circular tourism approach as an alternative concept for tourism development and its implications for sustainable development, particularly in rural areas, based on a desk study. The study employs a literature review method focused on examining current literature, narrative synthesis, and analysis centered on the conceptualization of circular tourism and its implications for the sustainability of rural development. The analysis results show that circular tourism emphasizes seven main principles, particularly in the context of sustainable rural development, including: resource efficiency, environmental and cultural preservation, waste reduction, local economic empowerment, multi-stakeholder collaboration, education and awareness, and innovation and technology utilization in tourism development. These principles form the foundation for achieving circularity in tourism elements involving various stakeholders. In rural development, circular tourism serves as a development approach capable of promoting the achievement of sustainable development goals related to responsible consumption and production (SDG 12).

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
