Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

Born in Canada and raised in Mexico, Dr. Manuel Garcia-Toca earned his medical degree from Universidad Anahuac in Mexico City in 1999. He completed general surgery training at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, and Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, in 2008, followed by a vascular surgery fellowship at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois, in 2010. He is board-certified in both general and vascular surgery and holds a master's degree in health policy from Stanford University in Stanford, California. Dr. Garcia-Toca currently serves as Chief of Vascular Surgery at Grady Memorial Hospital and Associate Professor of Surgery at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. His clinical expertise includes open and endovascular management of vascular trauma, aortic dissection, thoracic and abdominal aortic aneurysms, critical limb ischemia, extracranial cerebrovascular disease, and dialysis access. His research focuses on innovative strategies and outcomes in vascular trauma, cerebrovascular disease, dialysis access, aortic pathology, and healthcare policy. Dedicated to advancing global surgical education and fostering international collaboration, he also serves as the Councilor representing the Society for Vascular Surgery (SVS) to the World Federation of Vascular Societies (WFVS). Outside of work, Dr. Garcia-Toca enjoys road trips, soccer, and spending time with his family—especially cheering on his daughter, who plays Division III college soccer. Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
