Abstract: Parmi les pays européens, l’Italie se distingue par le nombre important de traductions d’œuvres québécoises, qui forment un ensemble très éclectique. Pourtant, la littérature québécoise reste peu définie dans la perception des lecteurs italiens, n’étant pas reconnue comme un tout identifiable. Ce flou s’explique non seulement par la faible diffusion des maisons d’édition qui publient ces traductions, mais aussi par une méconnaissance des spécificités culturelles et linguistiques du Québec chez plusieurs traducteurs. Au-delà de ces facteurs, cet article propose d’élargir la réflexion en s’intéressant à un autre aspect, celui de la réception médiatique. Il s’agit d’analyser comment la presse italienne contribue à façonner l’image de la littérature québécoise, en examinant le traitement qu’en font deux journaux aux idéologies opposées, Il Manifesto et Avvenire . En adoptant une lecture contextualiste, l’étude examine la manière dont l’altérité des œuvres québécoises y est présentée au lectorat italien.
