O conhecimento dos enfermeiros acerca dos instrumentos de avaliação de pacientes em cuidados paliativos internados e sua influência na Sistematização de Assistência de Enfermagem (SAE)

Abstract
Este estudo investigou o conhecimento de enfermeiros sobre os instrumentos de avaliação em cuidados paliativos (CP) e sua influência na Sistematização da Assistência de Enfermagem (SAE), no Hospital e Maternidade São José (Colatina/ES). A pesquisa justifica-se pela relevância dos CP diante do aumento das doenças crônicas, exigindo uma prática baseada em evidências e centrada no paciente. Trata-se de um estudo exploratório, de abordagem quanti-qualitativa, realizado com 22 enfermeiros atuantes em setores assistenciais. Os dados foram coletados por meio de entrevistas semiestruturadas e analisados por categorização temática. Os resultados revelaram que, embora todos os participantes realizem a SAE, 68,2% desconhecem instrumentos específicos para avaliação em CP e 27,3% afirmam conhecê-los superficialmente. Após a apresentação de escalas como de Karnofsky Performance Status (KPS), Edmonton Symptom Assessment System (ESAS) e Bristol Stool Chart, todos os enfermeiros reconheceram a importância desses instrumentos para individualizar o cuidado, monitorar o estado clínico e qualificar a comunicação multiprofissional. Conclui-se que há uma dissociação entre a execução da SAE e o uso de ferramentas científicas validadas, o que limita a efetividade do cuidado paliativo. Os achados apontam para a necessidade de fortalecimento da formação acadêmica e educação permanente, a fim de integrar efetivamente os instrumentos avaliativos à prática da enfermagem em CP.
