Abstract
Avain järjestää helmikuussa 2026 kaikille avoimen artikkelityöpajan, joka on suunnattu erityisesti nuoremmille tutkijoille. Artikkeliväitöskirjojen yleistymisen seurauksena ja valmistumispaineiden lisääntyessä yhä suurempi osa lehdessä julkaistuista artikkeleista on väitöskirjatutkijoiden kirjoittamia. Opetus- ja kulttuuriministeriön luotsaama tohtorikoulutuksen pilottihanke 2024–2027 pyrkii lisäämään valmistuvien tohtorien määrää – ”tohtorikoulutuksen nopeuttamiseksi ja tehostamiseksi yliopistoissa laadusta tinkimättä” (OKM). Vaikka pilottihankkeen määrärahat kohdistuvat keskeisesti lääketieteelliselle ja teknisille aloille, esimerkiksi syöpä- ja tekoälytutkimukseen, se kertoo tavoitteesta nopeuttaa tohtoriopintoja kauttaaltaan, myös humanistisilla aloilla. Esimerkiksi Helsingin yliopistossa tutkintoon vaadittavia opintopisteitä on vähennetty neljänneksellä samalla kun väitöskirjaan vaadittavien artikkelien määrää on laskettu merkittävästi: nyt alimmillaan valmistumiseen riittää 2–3 tai poikkeustapauksissa jopa vain yksi tieteellinen artikkeli (Sauli 2024).
