Sosialisasi Pengolahan Air Tanah di Kelurahan Borongloe Kecamatan Bontomarannu Kabupaten Gowa

Abstract
Air tanah merupakan salah satu sumber air bersih yang banyak digunakan oleh masyarakat di Indonesia termasuk di Kelurahan Borongloe Kecamatan Bontomarannu Kabupaten Gowa. Namun, pemanfaatan air tanah sering mengalami permasalahan karena adanya kandungan besi (Fe) dan mangan (Mn) dalam air tanah yang dapat menimbulkan gangguan kesehatan jika dikonsumsi secara terus menerus. Keberadaan kedua zat tersebut dalam air tanah menyebabkan warna air berubah menjadi kuning - coklat setelah beberapa saat kontak dengan udara. Selain itu, sering timbul bau yang kurang sedap dan menimbulkan bercak kuning pada pakaian dan wadah penampungan air. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah meningkatkan pengetahuan dan pemahaman masyarakat Kelurahan Borongloe mengenai persyaratan kualitas air bersih dan teknologi pengolahan air tanah. Metode yang digunakan untuk mencapai tujuan yang telah ditetapkan adalah dengan cara melaksanakan sosialisasi pengolahan air sumur menggunakan saringan pasir silika, mangan zeolit dan karbon aktif. Kegiatan sosialisasi dilaksanakan di kantor lurah Borongloe, dihadiri oleh dua puluh lima orang peserta. Antusias peserta sangat tinggi dalam mengikuti sosialisasi, hal ini terlihat dari keseriusan dalam menerima materi dan keinginan mengajukan pertanyaan pada saat kegiatan berlangsung. Hasil post test menunjukkan bahwa 50% – 80% peserta sangat memahami materi sosialisasi yang meliputi persyaratan kualitas air bersih cara pembuatan dan media filter air bersih serta pengoperasian dan pemeliharaan filter air bersih.
