Relación entre Síntomas de Alexitimia y Dificultades en la Regulación Emocional en Adultos Jóvenes

Abstract
El estudio analiza la relación entre los síntomas de alexitimia y las dificultades en la regulación emocional en adultos jóvenes, una etapa del desarrollo marcada por cambios significativos que pueden intensificar la vulnerabilidad emocional. Se empleó un enfoque cuantitativo, con diseño correlacional no experimental y transversal, en una muestra de 117 participantes de entre 18 y 30 años. Los instrumentos utilizados fueron la Escala de Alexitimia de Toronto (TAS-20) y la Escala de Dificultades en la Regulación Emocional (DERS). Los resultados muestran que el 71,8 % de los participantes presentaron niveles altos de dificultades en regulación emocional, mientras que el 50,4 % evidenciaron niveles elevados de alexitimia. El análisis de correlación reveló una asociación positiva muy fuerte entre ambas variables (r = ,928; p < 0,01), con mayores dificultades centradas en la identificación y descripción de sentimientos, vinculadas principalmente a dimensiones de descontrol emocional y rechazo de emociones. Se concluye que la alexitimia constituye un factor determinante en la desregulación emocional de los adultos jóvenes, lo cual refuerza la necesidad de implementar intervenciones preventivas y psicoeducativas orientadas al fortalecimiento de competencias emocionales y al fomento del bienestar psicológico en esta población.
