Abstract
J’ai développé, lors des quatre dernières années, un concept que j’ai nommé le corps poreux (Porous Body), une philosophie pédagogique qui favorise la pratique d’une plus grande malléabilité physique et mentale chez les étudiants en danse, en suivant quatre principes directeurs fondamentaux : le flux, le jeu, la métaphore et le paradoxe. À mesure que j’approfondissais mes recherches, la question sur la possibilité d’utiliser le corps poreux dans ma pratique chorégraphique devenait de plus en plus présente. Quelle utilité ce cadre de travail pouvait-il avoir lors d’un processus de création ? Quel type de travail chorégraphique pouvait émerger de cette expérience ? Ce texte est une réflexion d’un artiste sur une expérience artistique ; il entend donner un aperçu d’un processus chorégraphique où les principes directeurs de la philosophie du corps poreux ont été mis en pratique, et qui a débouché, par la suite, à la création et à la performance de la pièce edged, un solo explorant les frontières poreuses entre les mondes intérieur et extérieur, le planifié et l’imprévu, le contrôle et l’abandon, et encore, la peur et le courage.
