Abstract
Le présent article présente des résultats obtenus à l’issue d’une collecte de données bibliométriques visant à documenter, sur le plan quantitatif, les pratiques de traduction des textes d’édition autochtones de l’anglais vers le français au Canada. S’inspirant de l’approche socio-historique à la traduction mise de l’avant par Gisèle Sapiro, il vise à combler l’absence d’études empiriques de fond sur la traduction des littératures autochtones au Canada en donnant une vue d’ensemble de celle-ci, conçue comme un phénomène social et historique qu’il importe de synthétiser. Après avoir présenté les avantages d’une telle approche au sein des études en traduction, l’article présente la méthodologie et les critères de sélection du corpus de la collecte de données. Sont ensuite présentées des statistiques issues de la collecte de données, dont se dégagent certains motifs selon les variables identifiées (auteur·rices traduit·es, maisons d’édition, années, etc.). Enfin, quelques pistes de réflexion sont offertes en guise de conclusion.
