Abstract
A substituição de fluidos refrigerantes com alto potencial de aquecimento global (GWP) tem se tornado uma prioridade na indústria de refrigeração, especialmente após a Emenda de Kigali ao Protocolo de Montreal. Essa diretriz internacional impulsiona a transição para compostos mais sustentáveis, como o R437A, que se apresenta como alternativa viável ao R134a em sistemas de refrigeração. Este estudo realiza uma análise experimental da performance termodinâmica de uma máquina automática de gelo operando com o R437A, utilizando procedimento drop-in, sem modificações estruturais no equipamento. Foram monitoradas variáveis críticas do ciclo de refrigeração — temperatura, pressão e potência elétrica — por meio de sensores de pressão, termopares tipo K e wattímetro acoplado ao compressor hermético. Os dados obtidos indicam que o R437A apresentou comportamento compatível com o R134a, mantendo temperaturas de evaporação e condensação dentro dos limites esperados, além de consumo energético estável. A eficiência operacional do sistema foi preservada, confirmando a viabilidade técnica da substituição. Os resultados contribuem para o avanço de soluções refrigerantes com menor impacto ambiental, alinhadas às exigências regulatórias internacionais, e reforçam o potencial do R437A como alternativa segura e eficiente para aplicações em sistemas de produção de gelo.
