Abstract
Öz:Türkiye Selçuklu Devleti'nin XIII. yüzyıldaki dış politikası ve askeri stratejilerinin bir örneği olarak, Alâeddin Keykubad’ın Kilikya Ermeni Krallığı’na karşı yürüttüğü seferler ve, bu seferin arka planında yatan nedenleri, askeri harekâtın sürecini ele alındığı bu çalışmada özellikle Kilikya Ermeni Krallığı'nın içsel zayıflığı ve Selçuklu Devleti’nin Akdeniz’deki stratejik hedefleri, bu harekâtın motivasyonları arasında öne çıkar. Kilikya Ermeni Krallığı, II. Leon’un ölümünden sonra iç karışıklıklarla boğuşurken, Selçuklu Devleti, bölgedeki egemenliğini pekiştirme çabası içindeydi. Bu bağlamda, Alâeddin Keykubad’ın askeri ve diplomatik stratejileri, Kilikya’yı hem ekonomik hem de stratejik olarak zayıflatmayı amaçlıyordu. Ayrıca, Selçuklu Devleti’nin askeri gücünün ve Kilikya Ermeni Krallığı’ndaki iç karışıklıkların, Alâeddin Keykubad’ın stratejik hedeflerine ulaşmasını sağladığını ortaya koymaktadır. Bu seferler, Selçuklu Devleti’nin Akdeniz’deki ticaret yollarını güvence altına alması açısından da önemli bir adım olmuştur. Bu makale, Alâeddin Keykubad’ın Kilikya Ermeni Krallığı ile ilişkilerini ve bu ilişkilerdeki dönüm noktalarını inceler.
