Abstract
La evaluación de la competitividad en destinos de turismo rural representa un desafío metodológico para la planificación turística sustentable. Esta investigación tuvo como objetivo evaluar la competitividad de los Pueblos Mágicos de Sinaloa: Cosalá, El Fuerte, El Rosario y Mocorito. Para ello, se empleó el diseño mixto secuencial en dos fases. La primera fase (cualitativa) se orientó a la construcción de un sistema de indicadores, basándose en el modelo Calgary de competitividad complementado con la dimensión de sustentabilidad de SECTUR, e integrando revisión documental y entrevistas semiestructuradas a directores de turismo. La segunda fase (cuantitativa) analizó los datos recopilados a partir de fuentes oficiales de INEGI, SECTUR, CONAGUA, y el PEDS, procesando los 118 indicadores normalizados mediante el método de análisis multicriterio ELECTRE III. Los resultados revelaron una jerarquía de competitividad, destacando a El Fuerte como el destino más competitivo debido a la infraestructura turística, en segundo puesto Cosalá por la certificación de servicios, El Rosario ocupó el tercer lugar basado en la accesibilidad, y Mocorito se colocó en el cuarto sitio por la sustentabilidad. Además, se identificó una homogeneidad crítica en recursos culturales evidenciando la subutilización del patrimonio identitario. Como conclusiones principales, se determinó que la competitividad es multidimensional y requiere estrategias diferenciadas de acuerdo al perfil turístico de cada pueblo mágico. Se destaca la necesidad de intervenciones basadas en ventajas comparativas específicas, programas de rescate y valorización patrimonial, así como el fortalecimiento de los mecanismos de gobernanza local, aportando con ello un marco metodológico y evidencia concreta para la planificación turística regional sustentable.
