À partir d’un cadre théorique ancré dans les études sur la convergence médiatique et les mutations du journalisme à l’ère numérique, cette recherche examine l’évolution des pratiques journalistiques dans deux radios de Kinshasa, en République démocratique du Congo : Radio Okapi (mission onusienne) et Top Congo FM (radio commerciale privée). En mobilisant les travaux de référence sur la numérisation des médias en Europe, au Canada et en Afrique, l’article interroge la manière dont « journalisme fonctionnel », caractérisé par la polyvalence des professionnels et l’intégration de compétences multimodales, redéfinit les frontières entre journalistes dits « traditionnels » et journalistes web.L’étude met en lumière les modalités de mise en œuvre de la convergence au sein de ces deux rédactions, entendue comme l’ensemble des stratégies éditoriales et organisationnelles favorisant l’intégration des technologies numériques. L’analyse montre que cette convergence s’installe progressivement, de façon hiérarchiquement pilotée, et conduit à une hybridation des pratiques, sans pour autant remettre en cause la centralité de la rédaction « traditionnelle ». Les contenus numériques produits restent dépendants de l’agenda de cette dernière, bien qu’ils soient largement diffusés et consommés sur les réseaux sociaux.
