La création du statut national de l’étudiant-entrepreneur (SNEE) vient consolider le rôle que joue de plus en plus l’écosystème éducatif dans la promotion de la culture entrepreneuriale chez les jeunes en Tunisie. En se basant sur la perception des étudiants qui en sont bénéficiaires, cette étude explore le rôle de ce statut dans le développement de l’intention entrepreneuriale des jeunes. Elle identifie également les difficultés associées aux trois phases du parcours de l’étudiant-entrepreneur, allant du premier niveau « initiateur », évoluant ensuite vers le deuxième niveau « innovateur », pour atteindre le niveau final d’étudiant-entrepreneur « promoteur ». Les résultats d’une étude qualitative exploratoire menée auprès de 24 étudiants tunisiens poursuivant le SNEE révèlent une perception positive du statut et soulignent des défis tels qu’un manque de visibilité des perspectives au niveau d’initiateur, un déficit d’accompagnement personnalisé au niveau d’innovateur et l’absence de financement pour concrétiser les projets en phase finale de l’étudiant promoteur. Les résultats mettent aussi en exergue l’insuffisance du statut dans le développement de l’entrepreneuriat parmi les jeunes étudiants tunisiens.
