C et ouvrage collectif se découvre comme une véritable bouffée d'air frais.Le collectif dirigé par l'anthropologue Anna Tsing -qu'on a connu pour ses ouvrages marquants sur la globalisation, dont Friction (2020) et Le champignon de la fin du monde (2017) -nous présente une contribution réfléchie collectivement, qui intègre des perspectives multidisciplinaires et multi-situées pour « pluraliser l'Anthropocène » et « résister à l'hégémonie largement inconsciente de certaines habitudes de pensée » (p.347).Notre nouvelle nature est pensé comme un guide pratique et présente une série de concepts et d'approches pour informer les enquêtes de terrain à propos de l'Anthropocène.L'ouvrage est également conçu pour accompagner un complément en ligne, le Feral Atlas, une œuvre de recherche-création visant à représenter graphiquement les phénomènes localisés de l'Anthropocène, tout en les reliant à des logiques qui les transcendent.Mis à part Tsing, le collectif est constitué de Jennifer Deger (anthropologue, artiste et spécialiste des humanités numériques, basée à la Charles Darwin University), Alder Keleman Saxena (anthropologue à la Northern Arizona University) et Feifei Zhou (designer et chargée de cours à la Columbia University).L'idée centrale du livre est que l'Anthropocène est fait de patch, c'est-à-dire d'une série d'espaces affectés par des bouleversements écologiques créant chacun une homogénéité anthropocénique dans un paysage autrement hétérogène.Ce faisant, les autrices souhaitent offrir un portrait complémentaire à la vision « planétaire » de l'Anthropocène, qu'elles associent aux sciences de la terre et du climat.En effet, l'Anthropocène a des effets planétaires, tels le réchauffement climatique, le rehaussement des niveaux des océans, la pollution atmosphérique, etc. Toutefois, ses effets les plus visibles, comme les espèces Émile Duchesne 1
