Como fuente de este art?culo, se encuentra en primer lugar el malestar que sent? en M?xico a finales de julio de 2006. Me alojaba en la vasta zona alrededor del Z?calo ocupada por los partidarios de Andr?s Manuel L?pez Obrador, del Parti do de la Revoluci?n Democr?tica (PRD, de centro izquierda), quien rechazaba admitir la apretada victoria de Felipe Calder?n (Partido de Acci?n Nacional, PAN, de derechas) en las elecciones presidenciales. En La Jornada, al lado de gran des titulares consagrados al discutido resultado electoral, tambi?n se le?a la cr? nica de otro conflicto, m?s restringido pero m?s violento, seg?n parec?a, que opo n?a a un sindicato regional de maestros y mucha m?s gente al gobernador de Oaxaca, Ulises Ruiz. Lo que m?s me llamaba la atenci?n era la ausencia de rela ci?n entre estas luchas: ni L?pez Obrador ni el m?tico subcomandante Marcos, que volv?a a actuar tras a?os de silencio, evocaban el conflicto de Oaxaca, que sin embargo movilizaba miles de personas y hab?a conseguido paralizar el coraz?n de la capital del gran estado del sur. ?Por qu? el movimiento popular de Oaxaca no consegu?a hacerse o?r m?s all? del contexto regional?
