En este documento se expone brevemente la evolucion que se ha presentado en torno a los sistemas de autotransporte de carga en paises como Canada, Estados Unidos y Mexico. Se mencionan tambien las tendencias comunes que permitieron mayor diversidad de configuraciones vehiculares con mayores longitudes y mayores capacidades de carga. Todo lo anterior, detonado a partir de politicas desregulatorias y de libre competencia emprendidas a partir de la decada de los 70's. Como consecuencia, la prediccion del comportamiento dinamico de estas nuevas configuraciones, obligo a emprender trabajos que permitieran evaluarla y analizarla de manera mas sistematica y cientifica. Este documento menciona algunos trabajos realizados por investigadores especialistas en la dinamica vehicular en paises como Canada, Estados Unidos y Australia, que desarrollaron tanto metodos experimentales como numericos para realizar estos trabajos de analisis. Tambien se exponen algunos terminos derivado de dichos trabajos. Dichos terminos dieron lugar a lo que se conoce como medidas o parametros de desempeno, que son elementos que permiten evaluar, comparar o caracterizar, los comportamientos dinamicos de las diversas configuraciones de vehiculos pesados. Incluye figuras y conclusiones. Abstract: This document briefly describes the evolution around heavy vehicle's transportion systems, especially in countries such as Canada, USA, and Mexico. Common tendencies on those countries that allowed more new heavy vehicle configurations that increased both the overall weight and dimensions are also pointed out. Those changes were promoted by a relaxation of size and weight policies starting during the early 70's in the USA, during the 80's in Canada, and during 90's in Mexico. As a result, dynamic behavior prediction of those new heavy vehicle configurations require more efforts to be address in a more systematic and scientific fashion. This document describes the labor developed by research specialists on vehicle dynamics of countries such as Canada, USA, and Australia. Their work was focused on performing several experimental and numerical methods in order to understand such complex heavy vehicle's dynamic behaviors. In this document, it is also described some of the performance measures that were conceived to evaluate, to compare, and to analyze the dynamic behavior of those new heavy vehicle configurations.
