Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

The association between grape juice consumption, dietary intake and physiological parameters was examined in children (5–18 years) and adults (19+ years) using data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (1999–2002). Grape juice (GJ) users (n=270) were defined as individuals consuming 100% grape juice during the 24 hour recording period. Compared to non‐users children and adults GJ users had significantly (p<0.05) increased intakes of total fruits (3.2 vs 1.3 and 4.6 vs 1.5 servings) and decreased intakes of added sugar (18.5 vs 26.8 and 17.2 vs 22.3 tsp[J1]). Children GJ users had higher intakes of vitamin C (118 vs 87 mg), potassium (2732 vs 2287 mg) and magnesium (258 vs 232 mg) compared to non‐users as well as reduced diastolic blood pressure (BP) (56.3 vs 60.6mm Hg). Adult GJ users had increased intakes of dietary fiber (17.6 vs 15.8 g), vitamin C (156 vs 95 mg), and potassium (3263 vs 2751 mg). Adult GJ users had significantly lower diastolic BP (70.7 vs 72.5mm Hg) and serum homocysteine concentrations (7.4 vs 8.4 μmol/L), and a reduced risk of elevated serum homocysteine (OR 0.29; 95% CI: 0.15, 0.54) compared to non‐users. GJ consumption is associated with increased nutrient density and reduced diastolic BP in children and adults. GJ consumption is also associated with reduced serum homocysteine concentrations and reduced risk of elevated homocysteine in adults. Supported by Welch Foods Inc.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
