Si l’on garde à l’esprit les différences géographiques et démographiques entre la Belgique et le Canada, leurs relations politiques et plus spécifiquement leurs dynamiques fédérales et identitaires constituent indéniablement un point de comparaison utile pour comprendre la situation politique de ces deux pays et dans le cas présent de la Belgique en particulier. L’analyse des relations Québec-Canada peut ainsi offrir un éclairage pertinent sur les relations communautaires belges ; tel est l’objectif de cette contribution. Dans cette perspective, la première section revient sur les deux solitudes au cœur du fédéralisme canadien avant de distinguer théoriquement différentes grandes représentations du fédéralisme canadien. Cette description offrira les bases pour étudier empiriquement, dans la troisième partie, les métaphores conceptuelles qui se dégagent de discours citoyens capturés lors de panels citoyens. En jetant les bases d’un dialogue comparatif ce chapitre posera, espérons-le, les jalons pour la poursuite de la réflexion sur les apports réciproques de la science politique et de la linguistique dans l’étude des représentations politiques.
