Abstract
Lasioglossum (Dialictus) ebmeri GIBBS 2010, ♀ Ƌ, Zootaxa 2591: 116-120. Holotypus ♀: Canada, Alberta, 15kmN Elkwater, Highway 41, N49,93857 W110,34962, 625m, leg. Gibbs & Sheffield, coll. Laurence Packer, York University, Toronto, Ontario. Paratypen ♀ Ƌ von weiteren Orten aus Alberta, sowie USA, Nevada, Idaho, Utah. — Der Autor hat eine sehr umfangreiche Revision dieser taxonomisch ungemein schwierigen grünen Lasioglossum -Arten erstellt, die nahe den paläarktischen Arten der Untergattung Evylaeus stehen, aber seit dem Eozän eine eigene getrennte Evolution durchmachten und daher in eine eigene Untergattung Dialictus zusammengefasst werden mögen. In dieser Publikation hat der Autor auch in Halictidae tätige Entomologen mit Widmungen bedacht: Prof. Grace SANDHOUSE, Prof. Gerd KNERER und mir. — In Zootaxa erschien die gedruckte Version und damit gültig nach dem ICZN, mit allen Fotos in schwarz-weiss, gedruckt auf für Fotos ungeeignet zu rauhen Papier und zu flauem Kontrast. Dabei sind bei dieser Artengruppe die vielfältigen Farbabstufungen von grün zu blau essentiell zur Beschreibung und Determination. In der Internet-Version hat der Autor in brillanten Farbfotos den Habitus jeder Art sowie wichtige taxonomische Details dargestellt. Nur danach können die Arten erkannt werden! Es ist für die Schriftleitung der Zootaxa eine Schande, die nach dem ICZN gültige gedruckte Version ohne Farbfotos vorzulegen, ganz abgesehen vom Preis, der in keiner Relation zu diesen schwarz/weiss- Drucken steht. So erfreulich diese Publikation ist und dem Autor für seine umfangreiche Revision dieser so schwierigen Artengruppe, zumindest für Kanada, zu gratulieren ist, so sehr zeigt gerade diese Publikation die Fragwürdigkeit der Vorgangsweise der Herausgeber der Zootaxa auf.
