(2016, 2019) for, respectively, revisions of the Nearctic species of the Holarctic clade and of the adenes group of the Californian clade of Cybaeus. Bennett (2005, 2017) provided keys to all Nearctic genera then classified in Cybaeidae. Males of Cybaeus species often are difficult to assign to particular species groups. When in doubt about the group affiliation of male specimens, explore the keys to the species in the tetricus and angustiarum groups of the Holarctic clade (Bennett et al. 2016) and the key to species in the adenes group of the Californian clade (Bennett et al. 2019) or consider one of the four other Californian clade species groups (consocius, devius, septatus, and tardatus groups) discussed by Bennett (1991) and Copley et. al. (2009).
