Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

In order to advise a retrospective application for Listed Building Consent following unauthorised works on the Dower House, Grove Mill Lane, Watford, the Heritage Network was commissioned to compile a record of the building in its present condition, to assess the effects of the works on the historic fabric of the building, and to undertake additional research to place the building in its local and regional historical context. In the course of the present works, it would appear that much recent remodelling, in the form of stud and plasterboard partitioning, has been removed. Some original features have been removed, and the blind west facing windows on the first floor of the south-west range have been opened up. In addition, virtually all of the internal wall and ceiling plaster, whether of historic origin or not, has been removed. This has, nevertheless, provided the opportunity to examine structural elements, such as blocked openings and junctions between phases of construction, which would otherwise have remained hidden, and this has significantly supplemented the available evidence. The building exhibits at least five phases of structural development beginning in the late 17th century, together with evidence for many different stages of internal re-modelling, each one of which has removed, altered or obscured earlier elements. The present work represents a further stage in this developmental history.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
