Abstract
United States Department of Homeland Security. Nonimmigrant Admissions: Nonimmigrant Admissions (I-94 Only) by Country of Citizenship, 2017. Data Planet™ Statistical Datasets: A SAGE Publishing Resource Dataset-ID: 032-008-002 Dataset: Provides a count of nonimmigrant admissions into the United States by country of citizenship. Provides statistics on nonimmigrant admissions into the United States. Nonimmigrants are foreign nationals granted temporary admission into the US. The major purposes for which nonimmigrant admission may be authorized include temporary visits for business or pleasure, academic or vocational study, temporary employment, or to act as a representative of a foreign government or international organization, among others. The alien must have a permanent residence abroad (for most classes of admission) and qualify for the nonimmigrant classification sought. The nonimmigrant classifications include: foreign government officials, visitors for business and for pleasure, aliens in transit through the United States, treaty traders and investors, students, international representatives, temporary workers and trainees, representatives of foreign information media, exchange visitors, fiance(e)s of US citizens, intracompany transferees, NATO officials, religious workers, and some others. Most nonimmigrants can be accompanied or joined by spouses and unmarried minor (or dependent) children. Data are obtained from I-94 arrival records, and are reported by fiscal year. Note that admissions represent counts of events, ie, arrivals, not unique individuals; multiple entries of an individual on the same day are counted as one admission. Further, the majority of short-term admissions from Canada and Mexico are excluded, along with sea and air crew admissions (D1 and D2 visas). Note that, beginning in 2010, the number of I-94 admissions greatly exceeds totals reported in previous years due to a more complete count of land admissions. https://www.dhs.gov/immigration-statistics/yearbook Category: Population and Income Subject: Foreign Students, Aliens, Tourists, Foreign Workers Source: United States Department of Homeland Security The United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) protects the nation against terrorist attacks. DHS was established by the Homeland Security Act of 2002 and is dedicated to achieving this goal while allowing for the free flow of people, goods, and commerce across US borders and through US airports and seaports. DHS consolidates functions from 22 agencies under one vast umbrella with the single critical mission of protecting the US using state-of-the-art intelligence information. http://www.dhs.gov/

Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one source (direct Gemma or distilled Codex), not a consensus.
