Abstract

Contexte : Les interventions web sont proposées pour engager les patients dans leurs auto-soins et soutenir la collaboration avec leurs soignants. Objectif : Décrire la conception, la validation et l’utilisation du site web Discutons Santé (DS) en vue de soutenir le partenariat patients-soignants. Méthode : Le développement de DS s’est basé sur des modèles reconnus de la communication en santé. Neuf « utilisateurs-tests » ont complété un questionnaire et participé à un groupe de discussion pour valider le contenu et l’utilisation de DS. Trois types de stratégies de diffusion ont été testés dans cinq cliniques de première ligne (PL). L’utilisation de DS a été évaluée par 156 patients de six autres cliniques. Résultats : Les informations sur la validation fournies par le questionnaire et le groupe de discussion convergent. Leur évaluation des caractéristiques du site varie de 4,3 à 4,5 sur une échelle de 0 à 5. Des stratégies de diffusion proposées, la remise d’un signet au patient par le soignant s’est avérée la plus porteuse. Concernant l’évaluation du site, peu de patients faiblement scolarisés se sont préparés à leur rencontre avec leur soignant. Conclusion : DS offre des outils de formation à la communication et à la gestion des maladies aux patients, aux associations de patients, ainsi qu’aux milieux cliniques. Cependant, l’inertie de la pratique et la diversité de la clientèle exigent de tenir compte de plusieurs éléments différents pour favoriser son adoption à la fois par les soignants et leurs patients. D’autres études en cours évaluent l’impact de DS sur les consultations médicales en soins de première ligne et en cancérologie.
