Abstract
De Archeologische Vereniging Kempen en Peelland (AVKP, AWN-afdeling 23) heeft in haar jaarverslag 2017 de restauratie van een aardewerken voorraadpot uit de vroege IJzertijd belicht. Deze pot, gevonden tijdens een opgraving op de Huijsackers in Veldhoven, is door vrijwilligers zorgvuldig hersteld voor tentoonstelling. De vondst, gedateerd rond 600 voor Christus door Archol, werd oorspronkelijk gebruikt voor opslag en in de grond ingegraven. Het restauratieproject vond plaats in de ArcheoHotspot van het Erfgoedhuis Eindhoven, waar een team onder leiding van vrijwilliger Ine Boermans methodisch te werk ging. Het proces omvatte het zorgvuldig uitgraven, documenteren en restaureren van de pot, die in honderden stukken was gebroken. Na ongeveer 600 uur werk was de pot volledig gerestaureerd, waarbij speciale aandacht werd besteed aan het behoud van oorspronkelijke materialen en technieken. Dit project, niet alleen een technische uitdaging maar ook een educatief platform, zal uiteindelijk in Veldhoven aan het publiek worden getoond.
