This scoping review examines the extent to which the Ottawa Charter for Health Promotion, a foundational framework since 1986, is intentionally used as a framework for designing health promotion evaluations. It focuses on identifying trends in application, such as geographic distribution, thematic areas, and methodological approaches, as well as gaps in its consistent use. The review employs the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) methodology, guided by the Population, Concept, and Context (PCC) framework, and incorporates a systematic process for data synthesis and narrative analysis to map the use of the Charter across diverse health promotion interventions and settings.
