Abstract
ABSTRACT Workplace stress has emerged as a significant challenge in modern organizations, directly affecting employee well-being, productivity, and overall job satisfaction. This research paper presents an in-depth exploratory study of the diverse causes and far-reaching impacts of occupational stress. It investigates a range of contributing factors, including excessive workloads, unrealistic deadlines, poor management practices, and the increasing difficulty of maintaining work-life balance. Additional stressors such as inadequate support systems, role ambiguity, interpersonal conflicts, and technological overload are also examined. Drawing on a comprehensive review of existing literature and supported by empirical analysis, the study aims to identify key workplace stressors, understand their impact on productivity (e.g., absenteeism, engagement, and work quality), and assess how they influence work-life balance. The findings offer actionable insights for organizations and individuals seeking to address workplace stress through holistic interventions, flexible work policies, and the promotion of a culture of empathy—ultimately fostering environments that support both high performance and employee well-being.
