spinicornis (Loew), 1866: 181 (Cent. 6, No. 86) (Tetanocera) [Cresson 1920: 68] HT: ♀ MCZC, No. MCZT_13224 [examined by Fisher & Orth 1972b: 178. They stated, “The female specimen from the Museum of Comparative Zoology that we presume to be Loew’s type bears the following data: on a red label “Type 13224,” on a blue label “56/226,” on a white label “ Tetanocera spinicornis.” No locality is given, but we assume it is the specimen from Cuba cited by Loew (1866; 1872 republished)” (emphasis added)]. Also examined by LK 1977. DIST: CUBA (holotype, specific locality unknown). GUATEMALA (Alta Verapaz: Cobán; Totonicapán: San Cristóbal Totonicapán). JAMAICA (Portland: Port Antonio). MEXICO (Chiapas: Lomatán; Ciudad de México:Acolman de Nezahualcóyotl (Tepexpam); Jalisco:Ixtlahuacan; Michoacán:Pataquero; Oaxaca: Oaxaca; Puebla: Cholula; Veracruz). PUERTO RICO. Also CANADA (Nova Scotia) and UNITED STATES (Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia). HOSTS/PREY OF LARVAE: First-instar larvae fed only on the semiterrestrial pulmonate snails Catinella avara and Oxyloma retusa; second- and third-instar larvae fed on the above two species plus the freshwater pulmonate snails Galba humilis and Helisoma trivolvis and the terrestrial pulmonate snails Cochlicopa lubrica, Discus cronkhitei, and Zonitoides arboreus IMMATS: Neff & Berg 1962 (E, L1–L3, P) CHR: Boyes et al. 1969 (karyotype) MOL_DAT: Y

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
