Abstract
Sclerocoelus copiosus sp. nov. urn:lsid:zoobank.org:act: 01A777A8-0CFC-46B5-90F6-D739DF37B0D2 Figs 1B, 5J, 34–36 Etymology The species name (from the Latin ‘ copiosus ’, meaning ‘copious, abundant’) reflects the abundance of this very widespread Neotropical species, especially in Malaise trap and flight-intercept trap samples from Costa Rica. Approximately 24% of the Neotropical Sclerocoelus specimens in the University of Guelph Insect Collection belong to this species.
