Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

Hand-drawn 1:20 stone for stone record of the internal face of the south wall of the tower where it was exposed between the arch of the timber vault and the 14th-century floor above it, and an axonometric projection of the floor as well as a discussion of the primary 12th century and later 14th century construction. Following the recommendations which arose with new concerns about fire safety in cathedrals after the York Minster fire of 1984, a new fireproof blanket was installed over the 14th-century timber vault of the north tower of Exeter Cathedral in January 1993. This effectively concealed the timbers of the vault, and those of the remarkable 14th-century floor above it. In order to avoid disturbance to the blanket in future years, access to the space above the vault was also greatly restricted; after the works were completed it would be very difficult to gain access to the space, with its evidence of blocked Norman windows and of the 14th-century alterations to the tower. The writers therefore made a record of the principal historic features of the space (in rather hurried circumstances) prior to the installation of the fire blanket. The record consisted of a hand-drawn 1:20 stone for- stone record of the internal face of the south wall of the tower where it was exposed between the arch of the timber vault and the 14th-century floor above it, and an axonometric projection of the floor as well as a discussion of the primary 12th century and later 14th century construction.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
