Abstract
Tijdens het veldwerk zijn er zes boringen in het plangebied gezet. De bodemopbouw in het plangebied blijkt vrij uniform te zijn en bestaat uit zavelige kwelderwalafzettingen met daaronder kwelderafzettingen en op een dieper niveau zandige wad- of getijde-afzettingen. De top van de kwelderwal was in het westelijke deel van het plangebied, ter hoogte van boringen 1 en 2 vergraven tot respectievelijk 55 en 95 centimeter onder het maaiveld. In deze vergraven lagen werden veel puinresten aangetroffen, mogelijk van de gesloopte 19e eeuwse boerderij. In het noordelijk deel van het plangebied, in de akker, was de kwelderwal nog intact. In de kwelderwalafzettingen zijn echter nergens in het plangebied aanwijzingen aangetroffen voor bewoning in de periode ijzertijd tot middeleeuwen.
