Elephantomyia (Elephantomyia) corniculata sp.n. Figures 1319 Etymology. From Latin, horned. Material examined. Holotype, male. Threedimensional specimen mounted in slide, in Canada Balsam. Brasil, São Paulo, Cajuru. Fazenda Rio Grande, 21º 12’ S, 47º 09’W. 2 18. xii. 1999. G. Melo & F. Nascimento. White Malaise Trap. MZUSP. Color. Body almost uniformly brown; abdominal segments 79 darker than preceding segments, wings light brown. Head (Figs. 1315). Rostrum length, 4.40 mm; antenna length, 1.20 mm; maxillary palpus length, 0.24 mm; third segment of palpus ca. 1.14 times longer than fourth; head capsule length / width, 0.64 / 0.66 mm; head capsule with two hornlike protuberances at frons between the eyes (Fig. 13, p). Thorax (Fig. 16). Thorax length / height, 1.70 / 1.68 mm; tibial spurs lacking. Wing (Fig. 17). Wing length / width, 7.20 / 1.70 mm; crossvein scr at mid point between tip of R1 and origin of RS; discal cell ca. 2 times longer than wide; A1 ca. 1.5 times longer than A2. Abdomen. Abdomen length, 5.2 mm. Male terminalia (Figs. 1819). Gonocoxite length / maximum width, 0.65 / 0.20 mm; gonocoxite conical, with longest hairs at apical and dorsolateral borders; gonostylus subterminal; inner gonostylus length, 0.30 mm; inner gonostylus curved, narrowed abruptly at tip; outer gonostylus length, 0.25 mm; interbase narrowing gradually toward tip, aedeagus long, ribbonlike, abruptly narrowed at tip.
