Abstract
Mezar taşları ait oldukları dönemi bize çok yönlü olarak yansıtan önemli unsurlardır. Mezar taşları üzerinden sadece sahiplerinin nüfus bilgilerini değil aynı zamanda toplumun sosyal, dinî, edebî vb. pek çok yönünü okumak mümkündür. Dolayısıyla her bir mezar taşı tarihi belge niteliği taşımaktadır. 14. yüzyıldan itibaren Türk yerleşimine sahne olan Kırklareli\\'nde Osmanlı Döneminden kalma tarihi mezarlıkların ve pek çok mezar taşının olması gerekirken, ne yazık ki tarihi mezarlıkların yok edildiği görülmektedir. Günümüze çok az bir bölümü ulaşan Kırklareli Eski Mezarlığı\\'nda tespit ettiğimiz Pınarhisarlı Pehlivan Ali\\'nin mezar taşı çalışmamızın konusunu oluşturmaktadır. Pınarhisarlı Pehlivan Ali\\'nin mezar taşından, Sultan II. Mahmut döneminde huzurda güreşen pehlivanlardan biri olduğunu öğreniyoruz.
