El propósito del estudio que se presenta en este artículo es averiguar cuáles son los canales o modalidades que el profesorado elige a la hora de formarse en las tecnologías de la información y la comunicación (en adelante, TIC) y qué repercusiones tiene cada uno de los mismos en la posterior aplicación de lo aprendido en el aula. Para conseguir tal propósito se han seleccionado cuatro centros de la isla de Tenerife de diferentes zonas y con diversas situaciones socioeconómicas en su contexto. También han participado algunos CEP (centros del profesorado) a través de los asesores que se dedican a orientar al personal de los centros educativos con respecto a las TIC. En consonancia con los objetivos propuestos y con el fin de recabar datos, se ha elaborado un cuestionario destinado al claustro de cada centro, así como una entrevista no estandarizada que nos ha permitido profundizar en el tema y que se le ha realizado tanto a los asesores del CEP como a los equipos directivos y coordinadores TIC de los centros seleccionados.
