Estimulación cognitiva mediante tele neuropsicología en adultos mayores en riesgo de deterioro cognitivo leve

Abstract
Resumen La población de adultos mayores está creciendo de forma exponencial debido al cambio en la estructura poblacional. Este aumento conlleva una mayor prevalencia del riesgo de Deterioro Cognitivo Leve (DCL), que afecta funciones cognitivas básicas, como la velocidad de procesamiento y las funciones ejecutivas, en comparación con el envejecimiento saludable. El estudio tuvo como objetivo evaluar el impacto de la estimulación cognitiva mediante teleneuropsicología en la preservación o mantenimiento de dominios cognitivos clave, incluyendo atención, percepción visual, atención, velocidad de procesamiento memoria episódica, y funciones ejecutivas como memoria de trabajo e inhibición en adultos mayores en riesgo de DCL. La muestra incluyó 23 adultos mayores, divididos en grupo de intervención (n=12) y grupo en lista de espera (n=11), seleccionados mediante los instrumentos MOCA y GDS-15. La evaluación inicial se realizó con el COGNISTAT, subpruebas específicas del WMS III y el test de los cinco dígitos, seguidos de un programa de estimulación cognitiva mediante teleneuropsicología y evaluación posterior con los mismos instrumentos. Los resultados mostraron que los adultos con estimulación cognitiva presentaron menor declive funcional e, incluso, mejoras en ciertas áreas comparados con el grupo en espera y con sus propias evaluaciones iniciales, evidenciando estabilidad o mejoras cognitivas frente a quienes no recibieron la estimulación.
