Gênero e orientação sexual na percepção da amizade em homens

Abstract
O presente estudo visou compreender a percepção da amizade em homens em relação ao gênero e à orientação sexual. Possui caráter majoritariamente quantitativo, transversal, correlacional com comparação de grupos e coleta feita online. Os instrumentos utilizados foram: Questionário Sociodemográfico, Subescalas de Suporte Social Recebido Instrumental e Emocional e os Questionário McGill de Amizade A amostra foi composta por 299 homens de 18 a 68 anos (M = 29,6; DP 9,62), todos residentes do Rio Grande do Sul, em sua maioria heterossexuais (70%) e oriundos de Porto Alegre (55,9%). A percepção do suporte recebido não diferiu devido ao gênero e orientação sexual da amizade. Os participantes homossexuais perceberam que as amizades proporcionam mais as funções de ajuda, autovalidação, intimidade, bem como mais sentimentos positivos. As amigas mulheres proveram mais ajuda, autovalidação e intimidade. Heterossexuais apontaram maior desconforto frente a demonstração de afeto em público por parte de um amigo com seu parceiro amoroso. Com os resultados obtidos se observa a importância da amizade para homens independentemente do gênero e da orientação sexual da mesma, assim como se propõe que produzam mais estudos em campo nacional frente às especificidades deste tema.
