Abstract
D'aucuns ont remarqué que la région de l'Outaouais a été, au cours des 20 dernières années, à l'origine de plusieurs initiatives sociales qui ont été reconnues comme étant des succès. Certaines ont été reprises à l'extérieur de la région ou y ont, à tout le moins, suscité de l'intérêt. Nous n'avons qu'à penser, par exemple, au Carrefour Jeunesse Emploi de l'Outaouais, qui est à l'origine de tous les Carrefour Jeunesse Emploi au Québec, ou encore à La Relance Outaouais , qui a été la première entreprise d'insertion à voir le jour au Québec. Cette recherche, commandée par l'Agence de la santé et des services sociaux de l'Outaouais, avait pour but de documenter des initiatives sociales reconnues comme étant des succès en Outaouais afin de déterminer s'il y avait là des innovations sociales et afin d'identifier les facteurs qui ont pu en influencer, positivement ou négativement, l'émergence. Pour documenter le caractère novateur d'initiatives sociales en Outaouais, nous avons opté pour une recherche de type qualitatif. Il s'agit d'une recherche exploratoire limitée au territoire de l'Outaouais. Dix cas ont fait l'objet de l'étude au moyen d'une démarche appuyée par la recherche documentaire, un questionnaire et des entrevues semi-dirigées.
