Abstract

-- ABSTRACT : Based on the experiences of a Senegalese student practitioner, this research aims to examine the difficulties associated with intercultural communication at work, at university (exchanges between local and international students) and in society in general. It examines the academic and professional experience (an organisation made up of people from different cultural and linguistic backgrounds) in relation to intercultural communication and the cultural dimensions of the student practitioner in his host society, Quebec, and his society of origin, Senegal. A pragmatic constructivist epistemology is used, as well as a qualitative approach, autopraxeography, which consists of collecting testimonies related to the student practitioner's experiences. Using autopraxeographies, the results show how the reflexive and reflective process associated with this method makes it possible to construct generic knowledge from lived experience. In this case, it is a question, firstly, of linguistic barriers through verbal and non-verbal communication. Secondly, cultural differences, including conventions, attitudes and expectations, which have given rise to frequent misunderstandings. Finally, the prejudices and preconceived ideas with which the student practitioner was confronted, both implicit and explicit, on the part of certain colleagues and members of the host society, and how these limited his ability to integrate well and to be recognised as a fully-fledged member of the host society and in the workplace. This important finding corroborates Boudarbat's (2023) call to take account of these risks of socio-economic exclusion and the consequences that such exclusion could have on social cohesion. There is therefore an urgent need to implement adaptation and institutional assistance mechanisms to improve intercultural communication and the inclusion of students/practitioners from a migrant background. -- Mot(s) clé(s) en anglais : Immigration, foreign students, intercultural communication, cultural dimensions, autopraxeography.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
