Bibliographic record
Abstract
-- ABSTRACT: In recent years, the number of natural disasters has increased due to global warming and human activities (Alexander and McDonald, 2014). Risk management is the set of procedures used to identify, assess and deal with risks (Ousséni, 2009). Insurance companies help individuals and businesses eliminate certain risks by passing those risks on to them. This research aims to identify the role of the insurance sector in the implementation of prevention and mitigation solutions related to natural disasters. Thus, this thesis takes place in a positivist epistemological posture. Based on a qualitative descriptive study approach, semi-structured interviews were conducted with six insurance and reinsurance companies located in different cities of the province of Quebec. In order to allow participants to give their views on the subject, an interview guide containing open questions was developed. Analysis of the results of this study shows that the insurance industry plays a crucial role in dealing with damage from natural disasters. As a result, insurance companies with the collaboration of reinsurance companies have the role of sensitizing and raising awareness among individuals and companies in order to prevent the effects of natural disasters such as for example putting check valves to prevent sewer back-ups. . In addition, after a disaster, the insurance companies compensate the victims to restore the damage suffered. Second, the insurance industry plays an important financial pillar role in the Canadian economy. However, for the moment, despite the creation of insurtechs, there has been no major technological advance to help insurers prevent and better mitigate the effects of natural disasters. -- Mot(s) clé(s) en anglais : role of the insurance sector, prevention of the effects of natural disasters, mitigation of the effects of natural disasters.

Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
