Abstract
La presente investigación tiene el objetivo central de determinar el nivel de contaminación atmosférica por Material Particulado (PM10) y su composición metálica en al área urbana del distrito de Cusco. Se tomaron datos correspondientes a la concentración de PM10 en 12 puntos de monitoreo identificados. Para el nivel permisible de concentración de PM10 se tomó como referencia el DS N° 003-2017-MINAM y su reglamento de Estándar de Calidad Ambiental (ECA) para aire con un indicador máximo de 100 ug/m3/24hrs, y la normatividad de la OMS, que establece un indicador estándar de calidad de aire para PM10 de 50 ug/m3/24hrs como límite de concentración. Para el caso de los metales pesados como Pb, Cu, Mn, Fe, Zn, Cr y Cd, se tomó como referencia la norma canadiense (Ontario’s Ambient Air Quality Criterio - AAQCs), ya que a nivel nacional está en proceso la implementación de la normatividad correspondiente. El estudio concluye que el nivel de concentración de PM10 en el área urbana del distrito de Cusco es intermedio, de los 12 puntos de monitoreo evaluados sólo uno sobrepasa el límite del ECA nacional para aire, el cual está ubicado en la Plazoleta Limacpampa con 361 ug/m3/24hrs. Empero, más de la mitad de los 12 puntos de monitoreo sobrepasan el límite del ECA propuesto por la OMS. Se identificó la presencia de metales pesados en la composición química del aire en todos los puntos de monitoreo, cuyas concentraciones no fueron significativas y no sobrepasaron el límite del ECA para dichos contaminantes
