Abstract
aerah Istimewa Yogyakarta merupakan salah satu provinsi di Indonesia yang terkenal kaya akan sejarah, seni, budaya, suku dan tradisi. Daerah Istimewa yang memiliki luas 3.185,80 km2, terdiri atas satu kota, dan empat kabupaten, yang terbagi lagi menjadi 78 kapanewon/kemantren, dan 438 kalurahan/kelurahan. Dengan luas dan banyaknya penduduk di Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta, menjadikan kabupaten dan kota mempunyai keunikannya masing-masing. Kabupaten Bantul merupakan kabupaten yang kaya akan aspek budaya, kuliner, dan keseniannya. Pasar merupakan tempat yang dapat menampung beberapa aspek budaya, kuliner dan kesenian untuk meningkatkan perekonomian. Pasar Rakyat memiliki peran penting yang dapat menampung berbagai macam aktivitas terutama pada sektor perdagangan yang berguna untuk meningkatkan perekonomian masyarakat. Pasar juga harus memperhatikan beberapa faktor – faktor penting yang ada pada peraturan agar nilai fungsional dapat tercapai dengan baik. Ruang Terbuka Publik dan Pasar Rakyat di Sewon, Bantul menggunakan Pendekatan Ikonik diharapkan akan menjadi tempat Ikonik dari suatu tempat yang sudah memiliki nilai sejarah dan nilai keunikan. Ruang Terbuka Publik dan Pasar Rakyat yang berlokasi di Jl. Parangtritis, Km. 3, Randubelang, Bangunharjo, Kec. Sewon, Kabupaten Bantul, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta berdekatan dengan Jogokariyan yang terkenal dengan nilai budaya dan nilai seni yang berhubungan dengan Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta.
